Dear
Cat,
I had a dinner party the other night. I realized about midnight
that my indoor cat must have slipped out the door when a
guest was leaving. She doesn't like to wear a collar, how
can I find her?
Thank you for your help,
Dana
Dear
Dana,
Even though she is an indoor cat, it is still imperative
that they have ID. Cats get curious and will sneak out given
the opportunity. Start with a good poster including a COLOR
PHOTO of your cat. Give a brief but accurate description
of your pet. Use large letters so it can be easily seen
and read from a distance. Say the word 'Reward', but do
not put a dollar amount, that's not important. Post them
in places where they can be easily seen and noticed. Mailboxes
are a good start. Don't forget to notify your local shelter
and post a flier there as well. Place them in a large zip
lock bag and use masking or duct tape to attach them to
a poll. That will protect them from moisture and weather.
I have included two examples (below) of what not to do and
how we changed it so it would work. You might also wish
to contact an animal communicator who does lost pets. Sometime
they can give you clues as to the area they may have wandered
to.
